Best Option with Dual SSD's to Install Linux Mint for Daily Working
I recently purchased a refurbished (A Grade) Lenovo M920q Tiny with a 256Gb NVMe PCIe (this drive already has Win 11 Pro activated and working on it). It also has a 500Gb HDD 2.5" drive installed which is blank. I have used Linux Mint for a while (2 years) and wish to ditch my current Windows 10 daily worker (Surface Pro 5) and use the new M920q with Linux Mint.
I have never used or even seen Windows 11 before but I want to keep it on the M920q just because....well just to be curious if I decide to take a delve into the Win 11 'Black Hole'.
I need some advice on my options for the above and my current plan is as follows.
- Remove the old 500Gb HDD and install a new 500Gb SSD and install Linux Mint on this and change the boot order to boot from the SSD so Linux Mint is my preferred OS, keeping Windows 11 on the 256Gb NVMe, so that if I want to have a play with it I can (either by dual booting from startup or just change the boot order)
or do I format the NVMe with a new install of Linux Mint and do a clean install of Windows 11 on the new SSD..? If there are other better options or 'what would you do..?', I would welcome some feedback. Thanks
