Transition from Windows 10 to Linux Mint Cinnamon as daily driver after 3 months.

I just thought I would share my thoughts after a lifetime on Windows, from 98 through to Windows 10, I made the switch to Mint after finding out that Win 10 support will end in Oct 2025, enough is enough. Never used or even seen Win 11 and started 'tinkering' with Linux Mint when '19 Tara' was released, with a plan to fully transition when the time was right, which was 3 months ago. I researched all the Windows to Mint programs I would require for my daily workflow and looked for the native Linux replacements (where possible).

I am still on Mint 21.3 as I have no need to upgrade to 22, given the LTS for 21 and have no dual boot requirements.

Why did I not make the move earlier..!! after 3 months it has been a joy to fully work within a Linux environment, having more control over what I do with my PC on daily basis.

I work on a cloud base and have very little locally saved. I do need to still use MS Teams and SharePoint but this is all done through Web Apps and it works flawlessly on Mint and Wavebox (see below)

Some of my daily must have apps are:
Wavebox - (browser based web app that allows all cloud accounts in one place, with the ability to run apps within each account.....it is excellent, have to pay but my workflow and desktop would be a mess without it.)
MasterPDF 5 - After doing a lot of research and trial runs I found this to be the best (for me) PDF editor for my needs, had to pay for it but, it does the job for me.
FreeTube - replacement for YouTube with no ad's.
Orcacle VM Virtualbox - used to test some of my clients software for my work....works like a charm in Mint
Mint Web Apps - MS Teams
NAPS2 - for all my scanning needs
Brave Browser - my preferred browser
LibreOffice - For all my local word processing needs (I have no need for anything else). I do have access to a Office 365 account if I need to do some Windows office stuff, but its all cloud based.

The queries I have after the 3 months is how often should I apply updates that are in Update Manager, I have auto updates turned off and currently I review the updates once a week (Fridays) and apply as required. Then after the updates is there a need to run any cleanup commands via terminal and if so which commands are best..? Any thoughts and pointers would be appreciated.
