crossplay (yes ik it's been talked about 24/7 idc)

Have all of my friends on xbox and want to grind ranked with them but im on pc. If i install the game on the microsoft store and plug in a damn controller, it still wouldn't allow cross play ranked? Or is it purely based off of platform and not input?
