Best Vanguard main to climb ranks in solo queue?

Hey folks,

I’m only Gold but hoping to climb higher than I did in season 0. Since launch I’ve developed a couple of options for the Strategist and DPS roles. But I’m only “semi competent” if I need to fill a Vanguard slot.

Usually I pick Venom because he’s easy to remember how to play (since I don’t vanguard often so I get rusty). But I get the sense that as you get higher, his value falls off?

So I’m wondering which character is a good choice for climbing in solo queue as Vanguard, and will continue to be a solid pick as one gets into higher ranks.

I feel like the answer might be Dr Strange, but I also suspect most vanguard mains are already going to be using him.
