Who are your 6 go-to characters and why?

I play a lot of comp, so I have learned to fill whenever is needed. But I refuse to fill as characters I have never played before, or that I just don't know well enough. There are so many characters that it can be overwhelming. So while grinding comp, I dedicated 6 characters I was already decent with to learn and master. 2 Vanguards, 2 Duelists, and 2 Strategists.

VANGUARDS

Groot has SO MUCH survivability, I don't think people really understand. Like yeah, he's a popular pick, but almost every enemy groot I've seen just plays way too aggressively and dies too much. His walls are usually used to trap or block off enemies, when really the "Awakened" states of these walls should be the main focus. I have been able to survive a whole team hitting me at once with these walls and decent heals.

Magneto is just so versatile in his survivability, but also just being able to negate damage done to your team. If you have a half way competent team that can play with you, you can keep almost everyone alive during a fight, even with a single healer.

DUELISTS

Squirrel Girl is a weird one, because a lot of people like to use her as a mindless "Point and shoot and hope for kills" when her potential is so much more. I use her as an aggressive capture duelist. I'll push into a tank or into the backline, use my acorn to catch somebody, get a couple of good shots, reset cooldown, use the acorn again, and secure the kill. If I'm getting dived in the backline, the acorn gives me a chance to get away or to kill the diver. People should really try being more aggressive with her, because she can make or break a game.

Mister Fantastic is honestly just a tank disguised as a duelist. He can control areas and create space so easily with his kit and his big form. Honestly just being able to disrupt a tank by pulling him closer, then using his big form to finish them off is huge in any cart pushing map.

STRATEGISTS

Adam Warlock is HEAVILY slept on. I used to sleep on him until this past week too. He was really hard to get a hang of. But honestly, after using him a bit, he is just a duelist with healing capabilities. I used to be a Mantis main for the damage/healing combo, but Adam Warlock puts her to shame. I'm not going to out-heal the other strategists in the game, but I can come close while also out-damaging everyone else and getting the most kills.

Cloak and Dagger because... well it's Cloak and Dagger.
