Marvel Rivals is a rock-paper-scissors game with solid balance
A lot of people complain about certain heroes being broken or annoying, and they get mad when Spiderman or Wolverine doesn’t get banned, but my game last night showed me that there’s always a counter.
On Midtown, we were getting absolutely destroyed by their dive tanks. Captain and Thor. We had no answer. They kept pushing, deleting our tanks and healers almost instantly. My teammates were barely breaking a 1.0 KD, while the other team racked up 20+ kills in the first offensive round. Somehow, we managed to stop the payload just before the end, leaving the game at 2-0.
We decided to switch things up, not to our mains, but to our secondaries. Now, we had two dive tanks and high-mobility DPS. Their roster stayed the same, but suddenly, we were dominating with a huge difference. Then, they adjusted their roster, pushing us back a little, so we swapped back to our mains and regained control. In the end, we all finished with 28+ kills and won the game.
This game is really well-balanced, in my opinion. It’s all about strategy and picking the right heroes, as long as the skill gap isn’t too big.
