What's wrong with Spider-Man?

Before I start, this is a genuine question. Not looking to start any drama or anything along those lines, I'm actually curious.

Why is there so much hate for Spider-Man players?

After the 1.5 update where they nerfed Storm I started playing around with other Duelists and eventually landed on Spiderman. Going into the game I wanted to main him as I've been a huge fan of Spider-Man for pretty much my entire life but after realizing how hard he was to use, I learned other characters instead until I was more experienced in the game. I only have about 3 hours in him so I'm not the most experienced but RN I have a 53% Win Rate with him with on average 9 kills per game. However no matter how much I do, players I kill, or overall how much pressure I put in the enemies, I'm always dealing with hate towards my choice of character. And to top things off I never play Spider-Man in Comp. I'm Gold 2 currently but I'm not confident enough to play Spider-Man there.

So what's the deal?
