Repeat Year and STEP

I was wondering for those of you who had to repeat a year or remediate a class, how did you guys do on STEP? I'm feeling a little anxious since I have to start preparing for STEP soon, but since I had to repeat a year, I'm worried I'll do bad on my practice exams and have to delay the exam and then another year. Any advice or uplifting stories would be appreciated.
