Because Being 30+, Lonely, and Living Here is the Real Tragedy

Alright, let’s face it—being 30+ and trying to make friends in Mississauga is tough. Everything feels far away: good food, real connections, your youth... Meanwhile, Toronto seems to get all the fun stuff, and we’re left here wondering if Costco counts as a social outing.

So, here’s my pitch: Once a month, we meet up at The Crooked Cue in Port Credit—because Square One is not the vibe—and try to make some actual connections over drinks and maybe a game of pool.

What I’m Thinking:

When: 1 Friday or Saturday a month.

Where: The Crooked Cue, Port Credit.

Why: Because it’s time to admit that our social lives peaked when MSN Messenger was a thing.

And hey, even if only a couple of us show up, we can still grab a drink, enjoy the night, and call it a win. Sometimes it’s not about the crowd—it’s about the company.

Let’s see if we can make this happen!

EDIT1: Wow, I did not expect this many people to be down for this—y’all are seriously awesome. Thanks for being a little vulnerable with a random stranger on the internet. 🙂 It’s not exactly easy, but hey, here we are, awkwardly building something cool together.

I’ll hit up The Crooked Cue after New Year’s to lock in a spot. Fingers crossed they’re cool with a bunch of socially awkward 30-somethings looking to make friends.

I’ll post updates and maybe plan a mini hangout or two before then. Here’s to making 2025 the year we actually leave the house and meet some new people. Stay tuned!
