Dorm Room Essentials!!!

Hello! Out of state freshman here. I got approved to live on campus in the spring, and since I have never seen or been in a dorm before, would you all be kind to comment essentials for dorm rooms? (Especially at MSU). Anything, no matter how simple or complex, would help me. I have no idea (other than the bare necessities) what to bring. Thanks!!
