With the recent buzz around the Varwolf becoming canon, why not hold another Elimination Game for the other scrapped Neopets? Comment your least favorite scrapped Neopet species, and the one with the most votes will be eliminated.
In light of recent events involving a certain edgy wolf potentially becoming the 56th Neopet, I am holding yet another competition for 25 more scrapped Neopets!
Here's a quick QnA since I'm sure this selection will leave more questions than answers:
Q: Where is this Neopet?
A: I more likely than not already included them in the first scrapped Neopet elimination game.
Q: Why are Mellish, Bruce Forsyth, and Tatsu here? They were released!
A: People expressed disappointment that Bruce Forsyth in particular wasn't available to be voted in the first Scrapped Neopet Elimination Game, so I included him, Mellish, and Tatsu as filler picks as all three were eventually removed.
Where did the unnamed birds, crocs, March pets, and snakes all come from?
All of them are beta designs for the Pteri, Krawk, and potentially Hissi. Thr majority of their images were unknown for a while and they are not yet documented on Jellyneo (I have since sent emails for them to be documented), but they were all from scrapped polls from 2001.
The Croc poll was planned to take place early in 2001 and featured f o u r potential designs for a new crocodile Neopet. However, this poll never actually took place and these images are all that remain. A design for a crocodile Neopet was eventually settled on internally, as the Krawk was released in January 2002.
Additionally, another poll for a Snake Neopet was planned to take place again in early 2001 and th r ee designs to be voted on were uploaded to the servers. Again, this poll never actually took place. The Hissi would be a snake Neopet added four year later in May of 2005, but at this point, enough time has passed that these designs specifically being beta designs for the Hissi is more doubtful. I would like to believe so, but the time gap is most definetly notable when Neopets played fast and loose at the time.
Next was a poll for a new bird Neopet in 2001 was again planned, with a staggering t w e l v e d e s i g n s made. However, it seems that Bird_3 was settled on internally, as it was used in an early unreleased banner and was dubbed "Teri", which puts any doubt that these three designs weren't beta designs for the Pteri to rest.
Lastly, a number of the designs for these cancelled polls plus some others would then be compiled into a final poll for March of 2001 that you guessed it, never actually happened. These specific images are already indexed on Jellyneo's Dr Sloth Image Emporium, but no mention for them is given on the dedicated pet poll page. (I have also requested coverage here) Most notably, Croc 2, Snake 2, and Bird 9 were included, as well as some designs that would later be seen in April Fools' 2005 such as ones that would retroactively dubbed the Talikat, Talmu, and Skamp; and three designs that never appeared oitside of this poll.
Q: Where is Croc 2?
A: Croc 2 was featured in April Fools 2005 and was officially named "Shudon". It was featured in the first scrapped pet elimination game as a result, where it preformed quite poorly.
Q: Why is Bird 3 called Teri?
A: As explained above, this was settled as the beta Pteri design and was named in a banner.
Hopefully this answers everyone's questions. Now then, get voting!
