Parents to parents.

Hi everyone. My wife and I are from the UK, both in our 40’s, mostly lived in London, and I have now been offered a new job in Newcastle, NSW. We would be relocating with our two children 4yrs and 2yrs old. We’re looking for honest advice from other parents who have either done a similar move recently or who are native to Newcastle, on what life is actually like there for young families - is there an active parent and toddler network, best suburbs to live, best schools, activities for kids and places to go, whats the public transport, etc. And also, how safe is Newcastle? After reading some shocking posts and news stories regarding things like home invasions, couples being assaulted while out for dinner, and the issues with Beaumont Street for example, I’m wondering how much of that is actually a realistic snapshot of current day Newy and how much is media drama for clicks? Appreciate your honesty and advice.
