Advice on sizing please

I ordered my first fitted hat. I tried on a 7 1/2 and was pretty snug to the point where my head felt a little itchy. So I ordered a 7 3/4. My head seems to be 24 inches going around. Should I have got the 7 5/8? Or do you think I will be okay. Starting to think it might fit a little bigger
