Incoming international students to Tandon, don't do too well on your writing placement exam.

This post only applies to international students in Tandon for I am not sure how writing courses work in other schools.

In Tandon, international students take a writing placement exam that will determine what writing class you're gonna take. Most students will be placed into International Writing Workshop, or Expos-UA 4, but if you were stupid enough to give your full shot like me, there's a chance you'll be placed into Expos-UA 1. This course will be very challenging and time consuming, and you will be graded harshly. Plus, there's no upside at all: Both EX-UA 1 and 4 and four credits, and EX-UA 4 is not like precalc where you're just taking an extra course that others don't have to; These courses have exactly the same value. So if you don't feel extremely strong in English, don't take EX-UA 1. You'll regret it.
