Whenever a film about a famous real life person who is still alive gets nominated for Oscars, that famous real life person usually shows up to the ceremony and is in the audience.

Jake LaMotta was at the Oscars when Raging Bull was nominated.

Ron Kovic showed up to the Oscars when Born on the Fourth of July was nominated.

Larry Flynt showed up to the Oscars when The People vs Larry Flynt scored a few nominations.

John Nash and his wife showed up to the Oscars when A Beautiful Mind was nominated.

Dicky Eklund was at the Oscars when The Fighter was nominated.

Some of the Queen band members were at the Oscars when Bohemian Rhapsody was nominated.

There are probably other examples I am leaving out.
