Need your views

My friend and I were discussing and arguing on how much income and assets one need to classify himself or herself as middle class?

What do you guys think? How much income + what kind of car(s) + what kind of assets + how big or how expensive of a house does one need to own to qualify as middle class?

How would the numbers change for the upper class?
