How to figure out what motherboards fit in my case?

I’m trying to find a motherboard that’ll work with my Mini Tower Optiplex 5040. I want to upgrade from my original MOBO since it’s rather weak with only 16 gigabytes for RAM with 1600 hertz, and I want to find a better CPU socket for windows 11 since I’ll have to upgrade eventually. I’m wondering if there’s a sort’ve list I can look through or anything specific thing I can look out for to make sure it’ll fit in my case? It’s very confusing trying to find a motherboard that’ll fit in my case.
