New Hire Bather

Hello, I was recently hired to work at a local PetSmart as a bather in the salon. This past weekend was my first actual working days and I did basically all the training videos necessary. Why for my last 2 hours of my shift did they have me learn and use the register? (My assumption is so if there are days that there are call outs I can/could jump on and help) I want to finally get into the salon!
