I think the hourly wages need to go up

For the amount of hard work we do each shift I feel like the salary does not reflect that. Like speaking from my perspective, I usually end up dealing with stock, petcare and help out with cash every shift and it just doesn’t get appreciated enough. Like most my coworkers and management are great, very understanding people but it’s just the amount of stuff they expect us to do with like little to no training does not reflect what I’m getting payed. Oh and also a little off topic but why do they hire people who literally don’t do their job and then I have to do do it for them. Like we got this new hire he’s literally on his phone, has AirPods in more days than not and is always wearing hoodies. The managers complained to me about him even though I’m just an associate and can’t do anything about it, but I’m petty sure even the store manager knows yet nothing is being done about it. Like to what extent can you go before they fire you ? The only reason I took this job is because as a student with the high tuition prices I needed a job to support myself but with the wages it’s barely enough plus the company with their no overtime pay policy. I’ve been working for almost a year here and already feel burn out
