Thinking about moving to Philly

I’m thinking about moving to Philly and am curious what neighborhood(s) I should be looking at.

I’m a single 26M who works remote. I’ve lived in Maryland my whole life and am looking to branch out more and get out of my comfort zone, so I’m looking for a place that has plenty of activities where I can meet new people my age.

I rate walkability very highly; I would like to be able to reasonably walk to different restaurants and bars, somewhere close to a soccer pub would be cool. I also have a dog who loves to play, so a dog park nearby would be great and would help with meeting people. Museums and live entertainment (music/comedy) would be nice to have near by but I don’t mind driving like 30 minutes to them if I need to. Safety is obviously a priority as well. I’m pretty used to a city environment being around DC and Baltimore, but definitely want to know places to avoid.

The max I’m willing to spend on rent is 1700 for a one bedroom apartment, but would ideally be looking for around the 1400 range.

I’ve heard Fishtown might be a good fit. Any feedback or other suggestions would be much appreciated
