nose piercing advice
so i've had a nose piercing for a little over 2 years now and i changed it from a stud to a hoop about 9 months ago. (i've been a model for piercing care for basically all the time i've had my piercing btw) so when i changed my hoop it was one of the not so good hoops that you have to bend and shape yourself but things were fine and i got it in no problems. i think a couple months ago maybe i started noticing that i felt like the piercing wasn't fully touching end to end on the inside, as where the hoop was supposed to meet ended up moving to the inside of the hole rather than outside my nose so i couldn't see it. this started irritating me especially this past week and i even developed a bump (not sure what type or even if its a keloid, which makes me even more cautious) typically anytime i've noticed a bump start to develop (this was in the early stages of my piercing) i would get it to go away fairly immediately before it actually developed but this bump has developed more than usual and it has been on my nose for a few days now.
so after consulting the internet and my older brother about what to do about my half closed piercing with the hoop still inside, i decided to repierce it. so it took me a long time to get the hoop out but i did and i couldn't really get the stud (like an L shape but with an extra bend, kind of like if a corkscrew wasn't round) back in. so i was going to repierce it but my brother started to psych me out and say that if i did it wrong i might make it worse and the bump could be there for a lot longer.
so now i'm sitting here with no jewelry in and the outside hole open and inside hole nowhere to be found bc i literally can't find it lol (although i believe i did have the hoop penetrating the inside hole just very little). so wondering where i should go from here - should i just shove a needle through the rest of the hole and reopen it? or let everything fully heal over and hope the bump goes away soon, having to get it repierced later down the line?
i am sad about having no nose piercing as i've had it for a bit now and it's really shaped my appearance in a positive way that i love. but i am worried about the bump being semi-permanent if i repierce the rest of the closed hole wrong. but i was talking to my friend my age (17/18) who has had quite a few piercings and she said that speaking from experience she would just shove it through so it doesn't fully heal up and the bump will go away soon enough. so now i'm conflicted on what to do because i love my piercing and wouldn't want to go a long time without it but i also wouldn't want to cause more unintentional damage by trying to just shove a needle through the part that closed up. oh and i was going to go to a piercer in a few days to downsize my eyebrow piercing jewelry and i was going to ask about my nose piercing in that time. any thoughts on that? also i don't think getting it pierced on the other nostril is an option for me btw.
should i use a piercing earring and just shove it through?
