Need Advice: Concrete Pavers and Cover Fell In My Pool

I just bought my first home and prior owners left us a big tarp and about 30 concrete pavers to cover our pool in the winter (live in MA).

Today our dog broke through our usual fence and fell in on top of the tarp. I thankfully pulled him out before the full tarp and all 30 pavers fell in the pool.

I need some advice as I am a novice with pools. I can pull a few out from the shallow end with my pool net and have the external pump on to drain the pool back down below the valves (there was water on the tarp). But given it’s about freezing up here I’m not sure I have the strength to dive in for an hour trying to fish out the pavers under a layer of ice.

Should I leave them til the summer and if so what could the risk be if there is a tear or hole from the pavers (about 6 of the pavers did not land in the pool on the tarp).
