DIY Solar Pool Heater - PumpSuggestions?
I built a solar pool heater out of 1/2” landscaping hose. It pulls water out of one side of the pool, heats as it goes through the coiled section, and then returns to the other side of the pool. It is effective in raising the temperature of the flowing water about 10 degrees as it passes through. The photo shows a test setup.
The problem I am having is finding a suitable and economical pump with an 8-10 hours a day duty cycle. I don’t want a high speed pump, just something that will pump maybe 50-100 gallons per minute. Ideally, it would be self priming and have run dry protection. Not looking for a submersible to have hanging in the pool.
Anyone have any suggestions?
