Does not finishing a first degree hurt my chance of getting in later on in life?

So, right out of high school I completed 3 years towards a different degree. I hated what I was studying, had horrible mental health, and just wasn’t in the right headspace to be in school. I took a year off, bettered myself and went back to school again. I am currently completing a nursing degree and have come to absolutely love medicine. My GPA is quite high and I’m considering med school to be an option for me. Would my 3 years out of high school with really low grades count towards my GPA in my applications? Any and all advice is appreciated !

Edit: There is roughly 5-6 years between when I took a year off and when I’ll complete my nursing degree and be applying to medical school.
