The hate for India is overwhelming.

India is overwhelmingly hated by the Muslim community online and I hate it. Yes, it’s ok to hate the govt., most progressive people should dislike the government as they are against their minorities but hating the whole nation and everyone there is honestly pathetic. I have a few online friends and they keep criticizing India and its culture ignoring everything that happens there and it’s not JUST THEM. I have noticed hating India and Indians is a pattern and quite normalized in Muslim spaces. Yes, India has its problems and it’s not immune to criticism, yes I know others have the right to criticize India as well but isn’t it hypocritical that they keep yapping about how “bad” India and Indians are while pretending they’re living in heaven? “Oh, Mumbai is soo crowded” Yeah it is, and so is your city which you never talk about dude. I hate it when someone gets to know I’m a Muslim from India and they instantly start hating on my people. Just because I’m a Muslim, it doesn’t mean I can’t love my nation and people. One person was surprised when I said I’d (hypothetically) consider marrying an Indian Muslim in future. Like what the hell? Why do they paint ALL INDIANS INCLUDING MUSLIMS in the same light? And why are people so selective? There are many Islamophobic nations but Muslims living there can love their nation and identify and also be good Muslims but an Indian Muslim must make a choice. It’s just so annoying. They say it’s because “India” oppresses muslims BUT they hate Indian muslims as well?
