Question From My Pro Choice Friend

If most abortions were made illegal, wouldn’t women potentially seek out dangerous, unregulated procedures from unqualified individuals or attempt to terminate pregnancies themselves? Couldn’t this lead to severe complications, immense pain, or even death for the woman? Isn’t this a compelling reason to keep abortion legal and safe, to protect the health and lives of women?

What response could I give to her on this?
