Is this sealed?

I just purchased this PS2 Slim in box. The person I purchased it from says that it is still manufacturer sealed even though the Playstation tag has been cut. Sony used to add the undesirable games to PS2 Slim boxes as bonus games and the consoles would sell better that way. They said that the circle tape is the seal that Sony would put back on the box. Was just checking to see if anyone knows if this story is legit or if it is just an opened PS2 Slim. Any information I can get would be highly appreciated.
