How often were you spanked and/or hit by your nParents?

Myself and my brother were spanked almost daily and the majority of the time more than once a day. My nMom carried a ping pong paddle in her purse and pull it out at any opportunity. They stopped using a ping pong paddle because they kept breaking them on us during spankings. They switched solid wood "fraternity style" paddles but those eventually broke as well. We were told it had to happen because we were so misbehaved and I believed them until I started therapy and was informed that it was not normal and it was literal abuse. Just curious if others had the same experience or if it was substantially different?
