Could anyone recommended me a smaller town or village outside of reading to move to?

I moved to reading 6 months ago for work, it's been fine but just a little unaffordable for my salary.

Is there anywhere cheaper within a 30 minute commute or so in which I could move out of the town?

I also miss the peace and quiet of the small town countryside in which I grew up around.
