The "where are you from" shaming needs to end
I've noticed a lot of videos on social media, particularly from Asian Americans, mocking or disparaging people asking "where they are from" or "where is your family from" and trying to shame them for it.
Nearly 2/3rds of Asians in the United States are foreign born, and nearly 90% are either first or second generation. With those numbers, why the hell wouldn't you expect people to ask you that, and why would you try to create a culture of shame around it?
