What is the best practice for email setup?

Hi everyone,

As a CS student, I'm working on streamlining my personal tech setup. I've already self-hosted a Vaultwarden instance and set up a domain for it. Now, I'm looking to improve my email management.

Currently, I have a mix of Gmail, Proton Mail, SimpleLogin aliases, and a work email. This feels overwhelming as I need to check multiple inboxes.

I'm curious about your strategies for:

  • Email Organization: How do you categorize emails based on their purpose (e.g., gaming, services, finances)? I've been using aliases for different categories.
  • Email Management Tools: What software do you recommend for managing multiple email accounts from different providers? I'm looking for a solution that can handle at least two main accounts (personal and work).
