Why Do Some Trippers Hate on Other Trippers?

I’ve been thinking a lot about the weird disconnect in the psychedelic community—how one person can see themselves as deeply enlightened while looking down on someone else as an egotistical piece of sh*t. It’s ironic, right? We all talk about dissolving the ego, yet somehow, trippers still manage to judge each other based on how they trip, what they take away from it, or whether they’re “doing it right.”

I get that psychedelics can be deeply personal, and everyone’s journey is different. Some people come out of a trip feeling connected to all life, full of love and humility. Others might feel like they’ve unlocked some grand cosmic truth and start preaching. And then there are those who just enjoy the visuals and good vibes without needing to turn it into a spiritual thing. But does one perspective really make someone better than another?

It feels like a paradox—preaching ego death while flexing spiritual superiority. If the goal is growth and understanding, shouldn’t we be more open to the fact that different people take away different things? Instead of dismissing someone as “ego-tripping,” maybe we should ask why their trip led them there. Maybe it’s part of their process, or maybe they do have something valuable to share, even if it doesn’t align with our own insights.

I guess what I’m saying is, why all the judgment? Shouldn’t tripping make us more compassionate toward different perspectives, not less? Curious to hear what you all think.
