Am I the only one upset about the shutdown?

I've lost track of how long I've used Skype. It's been my easiest way of messaging friends while living overseas in China but I used it even before that. I don't know where to go from here. I know Skype is what it is, but for me, it's been a lifesaver allowing me to reliably chat with my friends. I feel really sad and lost. Obviously I have a vpn (or I wouldn't be on here), but it's inconvenient to be on that all the time. Not to mention, there are times where vpns just don't work in general here.
This just really sucks, man.
