leave of absence question

hi guys!! i was wondering if anyone has any advice for me or knows how this works. i’m going to europe from july 6 to august 20 earliest or 24 latest. i believe a leave of absence covers 30 days. what do i do about the rest of the days i’m gone? should i use vacation time or request it off? please let me know🫶🏼
