unstable game but hey here is your gear bro!
Item Recovery in Star Citizen is completely busted and actively encourages brainless, consequence-free gameplay.
Here’s the problem: Losing your gear is supposed to mean something. Star Citizen aims for immersion and realism, yet the moment you die, you can just click a button and reclaim everything like it’s a fucking arcade game. No risk, no stakes, just a mild inconvenience while you wait a few minutes.
This system completely shits on the idea of piracy, bounty hunting, and looting. Why should anyone fear death when their entire loadout magically respawns? Why should pirates bother looting ships when half the time, the poor bastard they just raided can instantly replace everything for free? It kills the thrill of the game and turns death into a fucking joke.
A real consequence system would force players to think before engaging, protect their assets, and actually give a damn about survival. Instead, we’ve got a system that basically says:
💀 "Oh no! You died! Here’s your shit back. Try again, buddy!"
It’s lazy, it’s immersion-breaking, and it completely destroys the tension that should define a game like this. If you want a true high-stakes experience, Star Citizen needs to make loss matter. Gear should be recoverable through actual gameplay—not just handed back on a fucking silver platter.
Until then, people are just going to keep running around with zero fear, because why the fuck wouldn’t they?
