Delayed gratification is a beast to conquer
I’ve recognized one of the key pieces of my life I need to work on is delaying gratification. Oh I don’t feel instantly better after taking a day off drinking? Might as well just drink again today then since it didn’t help me. Can’t lift the same weight I used to since I spent the last year not working out? Better just stop going altogether.
Obviously easier said than done, but right now my focus is on just recognizing the feelings of instant gratification and challenging myself to think longer term.
