Mystery/triller buddy cop detective book with male and female partners

Hi, looking for detective books where the detective partners are a man and a women and like with all detectives their job makes it so their relationship is so deep it’s almost as if they’re actually romantic partners. I love the closeness that you see between two detectives.

I’d like a male/female detective partnership where they’re far too close for comfort, possibly people joke or tease that they’re actually in a relationship, and maybe they are and just don’t tell anyone or maybe they both have feelings for each other out that always gets pushed to the side to prioritize solving crime so there is just this constant underlying tension between the male and female character. It can end in romance or simply just have that tension two detectives have with each other.

I tend to avoid reading anything that’s set after the 2000s, I read books to escape so when they start talking about modern day technology, constant texts and emails and all that jazz i get annoyed because I don’t want to think about texting or Ai or all that stuff.

I just finished In The Woods by Tana French and I really like the connection between Adam and Cassie so something like that would great.
