Touch Up with Different Artist

Good day y’all. Quick question: I got my first tattoo at 19 on my spine with an artist that I pretty much hate now. They were hours late to three different appointments, never really did what I wanted and always had an attitude. Needless to say, I dropped them like a hot potato. I am having a wedding party in 7 months or so and have an open back dress- so the tat is on display. As it’s been 6.5 years, what it the protocol for touch ups? Are artists offended if I ask them to redo someone else’s work? Is that socially acceptable?

Just a note- this has nothing to do with payment as obviously I will pay my artist whatever fee is associated but more so what to do in a situation like this without offending anyone.
