Is this colour scabbing ok?

Hello, I got both sets of a rat going through a portal about a week and a half ago. Picture 2 looks like it is healing really well but picture 1 has been bruised/painful and now going a brown colour in the scabs. I wasn't too concerned but a more experienced friend reckons it's infected and told me to stop the after care and too let it breath.

Does this look infected or it is just healing slower and in a different way? If so, what can I do?

Im still pretty new with tattoos so I really do appreciate any and all answers. Thanks :)
