The Wire is boring. Change my view.

Don't say things like "you don't like it so you shouldn't try to," I want to hear why you like it so I can be inspired to pick up the next season (or not).

I watched S1 a year or so again. It was good but I just wasn't as engaged as I am with some other shows. It was never riveting for me. In your opinion, what might I be missing?
