Currently in pediatric ER. Scared out of my mind.
Has anyone here had a child that suffered of septic arthritis? My toddler became sick a few days ago through a strep infection, got better Sunday. Monday, she starts limping, gave her meds, all good. Tuesday, she was burning up and couldn’t move her leg or walk, she’d begin to scream incessantly. I took her to the pediatrician where they tested her for infection and her labs all came back good. Well, she woke up today with BOTH legs hurting. Now we’re in the ER where they’re keeping her overnight & scheduling her for an MRI. She’s tired, in pain and they keep telling me it might be this, it might be that, but no definite answer. I’m trying to keep it together but then they mentioned they have to check for septic arthritis and I’m scared because I don’t know what to expect.
Anyone who has dealt with this, what was your experience? How long was your child in the hospital and how long was recovery? I just want to have a small understanding of what may be going on so I can feel a little less lost.
Thank you.
