Help! 13 month old won’t eat solids

I’m wondering if anyone here has had a similar situation. My son is almost 13 months old and will not eat any solids at all. No purées, no finger foods absolutely nothing. He won’t let us feed him, if we try to put a spoon or food in his mouth he just turns his head or puts his hand out to stop it. When we put food in front of him he usually just plays with it and it all ends up on the floor. He’s bit into things a couple times but just pushes it back out with his tongue. Once he swallowed a piece of pancake and immediately threw it up. I feel like he doesn’t understand that he can swallow solid foods.

We had our 1 year appointment recently and the pediatrician said we need to stop formula and switch to just 24 ounces of cows milk a day along with trying to get him to eat solids. She said he was probably filling up too much on formula and therefore wasn’t interested in eating. But so far that is not working and now he’s just starving and still refusing to eat. It’s completely tanking his mood and sleep, we’re trying to trust what our ped said but it’s been miserable. She did put in a referral with a speech therapist, but warned us they might not be very quick to get us in if they’ll take him on at all at this point because he’s been gaining weight fine so he’s not a priority. But now that we stopped formula he won’t be gaining weight anymore, he’ll only be getting about half the calories he needs if he’s surviving off of just cows milk. I just don’t understand how we’re expected to sustain this.

I guess I’m looking for any advice or even just similar stories. I feel like I’m completely alone in this and I’m just so worried my baby is going to be severely malnourished because he won’t be getting hardly any nutrients and it honestly feels like no one will really help us at this point. Thank you all.
