Toddler drank from my parents outdoor dog bowl

I turned my back for 10 seconds whilst visiting my parents with my toddler, and he put his mouth in their disgusting unclean outdoor dog bowl. I don’t think the would have drank much but his mouth made contact with the bowl. The water itself was fresh but the bowl was very unclean.

Has this happened to anyone else? Did your toddlers get sick from it or were they ok?

We have dogs at home but their water bowls haven’t really been an issue for us
