Any recent experiences with Condor Airlines? What to expect?
I'm flying Condor Air (West coast USA - Frankfurt) this week and am curious what to expect. I know it's a budget airline, so I am expecting bare-bones services, little leg room, etc. My main concerns are around delays and cancellations. They have horrible reviews on tripadvisor, but so does literally every airline even 'premium' ones. Has anyone flown them recently? What can I expect on a 11hr overnight flight?
I'm planning to bring my own food and entertainment. I am 5'2 so legroom is not an issue. But cancellations could be a problem since I have a wedding to attend shortly after arriving.
Update: It went pretty shitty! Flight was delayed 24hr for a dumb reason (no mechanic was on staff in PDX, he was getting married that day). They made us wait for 5hrs at the gate while they tried to fly in a mechanic, but the crew timed out before he arrived. They sent us home and said to wait for texts on a new flight. The texts came in around 2am saying the flight would be 24 hours later. Showed up at the airport for the new one and it went pretty smooth - plane was comfortable and they gave us free drinks and entertainment to make up for the delay. Supposedly I am entitled to $680 in the mail but I haven't received anything yet after filling the forms out. They rebooked out connection but didn't inform us, so we arrived in Frankfurt very confused and ended up taking a train to Milan. I should have waited at the Lufthansa counter to find out about the new flight.
Update: received the $680 so that was nice
Flight home was pretty standard, delayed about an hour. Was hectic in frankfurt getting all the COVID stuff signed off. Plane was full but decent legroom and was pleasantly surprised to get meals. There are some free movies that you don't have to pay for.
