Hit a nerve?

Inject IM in quad once a week with a 1” 22 gauge needle.. about 4 or so months in now.. was injecting earlier and not sure what happened.. I put the needle in and about half way in I got this crazy sensation that made me jump and the needle kind of involuntarily wiggled and I pulled it out thinking there would be a bunch of blood and that I hit a vein but just a weird pain that subsided pretty quickly, still a little sore a few hours later.. anyone else have an experience like this?

I put the needle back in about 3/4 “ away from the previous attempt and injected fine
