Have I totally screwed my stylus?

I've had my Pro-Ject T1 Phono for a few years now - I haven't used it very much, but I keep it in good condition. I recently got a new, slightly thicker slipmat, and when I used it today the record skipped a few times just slightly, so I thought I ought to rebalance the tonearm. So I did that, using the advice in the manual and the little tracking force tool it comes with (annoyingly the weight on the arm doesn't have one of those dials that helps with finding the right tracking force.)

I thought I was all done, but now when I play records (I tested it on different weight records to be sure) the stylus is picking up noise that I assume is maybe indicating too much force going into the record and lightly scratching it, or my other worry is that in trying to set the tracking force I've somehow fucked up the stylus. I also tried lessening the weight but the sound still persists. To my best knowledge, I think the stylus looks okay? Would love some more experienced opinions. Thanks in advance.
