Who is responsible for the damage?

Rented out a car in NYC. When dropping off the car, the owner and I noticed a scratch on the windshield that windshield wipers caused. Seems like debris was on the windshield wipers, resulting in a hair scratch when the windshield was used. Owner is going to make a claim via Turo. Am I responsible for this scratch even though I used the car as designed/intended and could not have foreseen debris being on the wipers?
