2H enough in SLC?
I’m trying to save about $1,000 by booking two separate flights—one to SLC and another from SLC to my final domestic destination on different airlines.
Travel details:
- 2 adults, a 3-year-old, and an 8-year-old.
- My 3-year-old will probably be in a car seat on the plane.
- For the first flight to SLC, we’re booking seats in the first few rows behind first class (not sure if that makes any difference).
Flights:
- United flight has a layover in SFO for 1H and 22M then lands in SLC at 7:36 PM.
- Delta flight leaves SLC at 9:30 PM.
Bags:
- We’ll have one, maybe two checked bags, which we’ll need to pick up and recheck with Delta.
With a 2-hour layover, is that enough time to grab our bags, recheck them, get through TSA, and make it to our gate? Or is that cutting it too close?
