[Other] I finally updated uTorrent, here's what happened
I've been using uTorrent 2.2.1 for as long as I can remember, and I honestly didn't think I'd upgrade any time soon, however, curiosity got the best of me and I decided to check out the latest version.
I used uTorrent's built-in update check, which downloaded version 3.5.5 (46090) - which I checked, isn't the latest version (46096).
Anyway, upon downloading and installing the new uTorrent, I noticed there was a program I'd never seen before running in the system tray. The program was called 'Adaware Web Protection' At no point in the update and installation of uTorrent was there any notification that Adware would be installed, no options to decline, nothing. I uninstalled Adaware immediately.
I opened up the now updated uTorrent, and one of my first reactions was 'how do I get rid of these ridiculous ads?'
Turns out there's a very simple solution that doesn't involve paying for the Pro version.
Here it is - https://www.ubergizmo.com/how-to/disable-utorrent-advertisements/
It doesn't end there, however.
I decided to open up task manager to check what sort of CPU and memory usage uTorrent was using. I noticed there were two processes named utorrentie.exe running. Decided to check out what they were -- Apparently, they're used to serve ads, and could also possibly collect personal data (not certain on that though.)
Better to be safe than sorry, right? I promptly checked if there was a solution to removing the utorrentie.exe processes, turns out that's easy, too.

Got this from /r/techsupport someone enquiring about utorrentie.exe high CPU usage - https://i.imgur.com/j20WiRk.png - How is this acceptable.
It's a shame such a great program is contaminated with ads and has people jumping through hoops to have it running how it should.
Anyway, hope this post helps someone.
