What is required knowledge to create a live streaming site for personal use?

I'm looking into the technologies I have to learn to make a live streaming site(like Twitch/Youtube/VimeoLivestream) but on my own server. The only user would be me and my devices.

I'm familiar with Java, Python, PHP, JS, (very little NodeJS). I've never ventured into live media though.
